Submit My Blog: The Basics
One of the most common concerns of most bloggers is answering the question “What benefits will I gain when I submit my blog to blog directories?” The answers to this question are quite varied, with some opting to submit to several blog directories at a time, with others failing to see much point in it. What I have learned through extensive research and experience however, is that I get consistently good results when I submit my blog to a few different blog directories a short time after launching them.
Some of the more obvious benefits I have gained when I submit my blog to blog directories are the almost immediate backlinks I got to my blog. The result was that my websites became more “attractive” to search engines, which indexed them more readily and in turn caused them to achieve a higher ranking in search engine results pages.
Search engines particularly value these links. In most cases, search engines rank pages that have such links higher, since they are generally considered to be more worthy of linking to. it was this realization that allowed me to get favorable results after I submit my blog to a few directories. The directory listings themselves don’t actually generate more visitors.
There is a bit of dispute about the proper number of blog directories to submit my blog to. Some people feel that I should submit my blog to as many as hundreds of blog directories, while others feel that this would be pointless.
As is the norm in the industry, it appears that submission to 10 blog directories or even less is sufficient. For although search engines are attracted to sites that have plenty of links, they are more likely to place a higher value on links that are featured on on topic posts and articles, as opposed to those that come from blog directories.
My primary concern at this point was how to find blog directories that I could submit my blog to. A simple online search for “blog directory” will actually get you hundreds of potential directories to check out. In fact, many of the better blog directories came in at the top of the search results pages.
There are many blog directories that have specific rules about posting backlinks. I tend to shy away from those blog directories, and instead I tried to submit my blog to blog directories that were a lot less rigid.
Many of the blog directories I tried out were simple to submit content to. I felt that it would be best to skip the ones that take longer, and instead spend a few minutes in order to submit my blog only to a few blog directories. I was then able to focus on producing better content that resulted in more links.
